Salvaged Cornish shipwreck copper & concrete base.
'Full Astern' has been created using salvaged copper that has been recovered from the underwater world and a Cornish Shipwreck.
The copper steam pipe has been located and recovered from the wreck site using SCUBA diving equipment, it is the declared to H.M. Reciever of Wreck who can then award the item to the finder in lieu of a salvage award.
The century old copper has been sat on the seabed for many decades and has been at the mercy of the winter storms and waves, this has created a very unique texture, patina and verdigris.
The marine copper has a very unique texture and patina, the sculptures are created emphasising this and the original marine growth and verdigris is incorporated into its design.
Not only is each sculpture totally unique, they are also a living piece of history and each one tells a unique and historical story.
Sculpture, art, art'e'fact.
